History of Killer Instinct from Did You Know Gaming

Killer Instinct – Did You Know Gaming?

Nintendo‘s classic fighting game developed by Rare, Killer Instinct, was a sight to behold when it was unleashed on the arcades in the mid-1990s. Not only was it wacky and violent like Mortal Kombat, but it also purported to have a deep fighting mechanic like Street Fighter II. Plus it openly advertised Nintendo’s upcoming successor console system to the Super Nintendo (SNES), the Ultra 64 (what would go on to become the Nintendo 64). Not only did it make the Ultra 64 look badass, it promised that Nintendo had an answer to Sega‘s then fairly liberal stance towards violence in gaming and upcoming challenger Sony’s Playstation which promised to be an experience geared towards not only the entire family but also the mature gamer.
