Are you planning any graphic novels or visual adaptations?
I think this would be a really cool concept to explore, especially with generative AI.
Of course, it would always be ideal to have real artists do this kind of work. There’s a cost associated with that, obviously, but I really feel like a multimedia presentation — audiobooks, art, adaptations — would be a lot of fun and a totally different way to explore the world of Animus Proxy.
Would you want Animus Proxy to be adapted into an animated series, live-action, or a game?
Probably the most faithful adaptation would be some kind of open-world video game, similar to what Rockstar and CD Projekt Red have done with Grand Theft Auto and Cyberpunk 2077, respectively.
In terms of depicting events on screen, animation has advanced so much that if it were done by a Japanese anime studio, it would be beautiful and immersive — and probably less expensive than live action.
You never know how live action will turn out — some succeed, like Fallout, and others, like the Cowboy Bebop adaptation, don’t really connect.
What genre of music would fit best for an Animus Proxy soundtrack?
Probably techno, or the newer genre called phonk, which really encapsulates the cyberpunk vibe well.
Really, any electronic-based music fits — anything that drives its melody through electronic sources.
Video game music, chiptunes — anything with that synthetic pulse would work perfectly.

Are you considering merchandise, posters, or art books based on the Animus Proxy universe?
I think t-shirts and merchandise would be a lot of fun, especially if it adds to the fan experience.
It’s hard to gauge exactly what will resonate until you put it out there — but it’s definitely something I’m interested in exploring.
Would you ever collaborate with other artists, writers, or developers to expand the world?
Definitely.
That would be a lot of fun, especially for the opportunity to learn from others, share experiences, and open up new avenues in storytelling and world-building.
Is there a timeline you have in mind for the next few releases?
I’m working to get the Halcyon book out by the fall.
From there, we’ll move forward — balancing content creation, promotion, and other ventures.
It’s really just about finding the time to sit down and write, then edit and refine the work, and, of course, carefully plan each step forward.
What kind of themes would you want to explore if the series ever expanded into film or TV?
I think it would be interesting to explore things like the Animus technology itself — the whole concept of transferring consciousness.
Also, the factory production of life that’s needed to sustain the economy in Animus Proxy would be fascinating to explore visually — and would offer something novel and different from traditional sci-fi adaptations.
How do you hope readers feel when they finish reading Halcyon?
I hope Halcyon feels like more of an adventure than anything else.
I want readers to walk away thinking:
“Wow, what a cool world. I’d love to spend more time there.”
I hope it sparks a feeling of wonder, a desire to see and live in that world, and maybe even want more of it.
In three words, where do you see Animus Proxy going in the future?
Your tomorrow today.
What is your biggest hope for Animus Proxy’s long-term impact?
I hope people enjoy the experience and have fun.
If Animus Proxy makes an artistic impact, that’s amazing — but I think the reader’s experience is what matters most.
Awards, artistic recognition — those are separate from the personal, idiosyncratic connection each reader has with a story.
If someone comes away saying, “That was fun,” — I think that makes a bigger and more lasting impression than anything else.
And if they also find meaning or artistry in it? Even better.
