BLADE RUNNER 2049 – “2036: Nexus Dawn” Short from Warner Bros.

If you’ve followed DEMAGAGA, you know that Kehl Bayern (yours truly) is a big fan of cyberpunk (I even authored my own series, you can check it out here).

So, Blade Runner 2049 is kind of a big deal for me (the first film being my favorite or tied for favorite film of all time). This short from the upcoming sequel gives us a peek into the world post-2019 and how replicants and humanity have changed since the events of the first movie.

Needless to say, big changes and, without revealing too much, it seems that some taboos from the first movie became even stronger but humanity’s reliance on its technology became even greater. We already know that the planetary surface is increasingly poisoned and becoming inhospitable to life. Los Angeles is even shown surrounded by a gigantic sea wall to keep the Pacific Ocean at bay.

Watch the trailer and draw your own theories. If you want some cyberpunk goodness to whet your appetite in the meantime, check out ANIMUS PROXY on Amazon.
