Tom Misch & Carmody – “The Last Song

Tom Misch and Carmody…beautiful music for beautiful days…

This is one of those tracks that stays with you because of its beautiful melody and layered lyrical composition – both vocally and in interpretation. The mix of male and female vocals declares it an indie music track from the beginning, but that’s what makes it so magical in its essence. It reminds us of summer days, particularly towards the end of everything, when paradise is folding up on itself in preparation for the chill of autumn and winter. Gone is the effervescent and frivolous energy of summer – or of youth. So much here and it never overwhelms or becomes anything less than perfectly mellow and cheerful. Highly recommend this track.

As we stand alone
there were ways we could’ve learned to let go
but didn’t you know
all this love was for you
but didn’t you know
every line was for you

this is the last song that leaves my mouth for you
this is the last song that leaves my body for you
this is the last song that leaves my mouth for you
this is the last song that leaves my body for you you you
for you you you

As we fell away
there were words we could have learned to say
I want you to know
all this love was for you
I want you to know
every line was for you

this is the last song that leaves my mouth for you
this is the last song that leaves my body for you
this is the last song that leaves my mouth for you
this is the last song that leaves my body for you you you
for you you you
