Daimler AG Debuts New Mercedes-Benz CLA Class at the Detroit Auto Show

The car is positioned underneath Mercedes-Benz’s C-Class and will be the mark’s lowest priced car with some rumors suggesting its MSRP could fall below $30,000.

The CLA Class is a front-wheel drive derivative of the A-Class, a compact car sold in Asia and Europe but not currently offered in the United States. It is hoped that the compact car and its lower price attract a younger clientele that is new to the Mercedes-Benz brand.

The launch of the CLA will be accompanied by a high-dollar media campaign that kicks-off with a Superbowl commercial starring Kate Upton and R&B singer Usher.

The video above shows the Concept Style Coupe, a prelude to the CLA Class, that debuted at the Beijing Auto Show in 2012.
