Following a meeting with US President-Elect Donald Trump in New York City’s Trump Tower, West Virginia Senator Joe Manchin will not be part of the incoming Trump cabinet and will remain a senator from WV where he has focused on coal mining expansion and the welfare of coal miner families. He express his desire to work closely with the incoming Trump administration to pass his bill to protect union miners’ health care and pensions, address the opioid crisis that’s hit West Virginia especially hard, rebuild infrastructure, fix the tax code and build the economy.
