Nonprofit organization director came under fire for viral post with racial overtones criticizing Michelle Obama’s appearance

Racist? Michelle Obama is an “Ape in Heels” from The David Pakman Show

After her inflammatory comments about current United States First Lady Michelle Obama went public, Clay County Development Corporation Director Pamela Taylor is returning to her job at the nonprofit organization. In a Facebook post written in November that quickly went viral, Pamel Taylor criticized the First Lady’s appearance while simultaneously celebrating the election of Republican candidate Donald Trump. “It will be refreshing to have a classy, beautiful, dignified First Lady in the White House,” Pamela Taylor wrote. “I’m tired of seeing an ape in heels.” Pamela Taylor was initially suspended by Bureau of Senior Services, an organization that oversees the activities of the Clay County Development Corporation. Clay Mayor Beverly Whaling was forced to resign due to her praise of Pamela Taylor’s post. West Virginia Bureau of Senior Services Commissioner Robert E. Roswall commented that Taylor’s continued employment at the Clay County Development Corporation could imperil state funding the organization receives, totaling approximately $350k annually.
