The Grave Digger’s Daughter – a gritty novel that weaves multiple genres and is a definite must-read book this fall

I’ve been reading Joyce Carol Oates novel The Grave Digger’s Daughter this past week and a half and I have to say it is one of the darkest, best novels I’ve read in some time.

I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys noir, strong willed independent heroines, immigrant stories, crime, suspense, or even adventure novels. Joyce Carol Oates deftly weaves multiple themes and influences together into a gritty work that will leave an impression upon you from the beginning.

I’m a little more than halfway through the book and I will be sure to post a full review once I’m finished but I can already tell you that you need to read this book. Do yourself a favor and pick it up at your library or buy it from today.
