Legendary designer Milton Glaser, famous for the “I<3NYC” logo found everywhere in the world, worked with Mad Men’s creator Matthew Weiner to produce original artwork for the final season of one of television’s most acclaimed series ever. Recently interviewed for AMCtv.com, Glaser revealed that initially the plans were to have the design in an abstract format, but later decided on incorporating a more direct representation of the events of season 7, “…it just felt more convincing and more interesting to have some figurative element, notably the head of a woman and the wine being poured. So we moved away from the idea of having a sort of wallpaper extraction that would sort of symbolize the moment towards having a bit of narration where the characters inthe image are related to a story that as going on.”

Mad Men Season 7, part 1 begins Sunday April 13, 2014. You can expect full coverage of Mad Men’s final season here.
