College super star yet struggling National Football League quarterback Tim Tebow was released by the New England Patriots, potentially ending his professional football career ahead of the regular season. Having spent less than 12 weeks with the Patriots, Tebow’s likelihood of being signed to another team this season is not very good, especially given his mediocre performance while with the Patriots (2 touchdown passes, 2 interceptions, and 7 sacks , earning him a QB rating of 47.2). It would be unfortunate if Tim Tebow becomes another example of how American college football success does not translate immediately to the multimillion dollar industrial sports complex that is the National Football League.
