Beijing’s Air Pollution Levels Toxic to Humans

Readings from official, government and unofficial, non-government air quality monitors in the People’s Republic of China’s capital of Beijing are showing dangerous levels of pollution. Current levels of pollutants are well above World Health Organization (WHO) guidelines and are so extreme that even the interiors of homes and buildings have a hazy, smog laced atmosphere. The air tastes of coal dust and car exhaust according to residents of China’s capital metropolis.
