U.S. Elections 2012: Republicans Retain Majority in Number of State Governors

Following the United States 2012 Elections the Republican Party will retain a majority in the number of governor’s seats. North Carolina elected its first GOP governor since the 1980s, bucking a general liberal trend with the re-election of Barack Obama. Races in Washington and Montana were too close to be called as of writing.
