China to Develop New Internet Protocol.

Attempt on the part of the Communist nation of the People’s Republic of China to further control and regulate its citizens’ access to content on the internet.

The government of the People’s Republic of China announced that it will begin testing a new internet protocol in 2013 designed to increase the number of potential domain names available while also likely giving the government control over how its citizens access information over the internet. Internet protocol version 6 is part of the 12th Five-Year Plan for the period 2011-2015 and will enter large-scale deployment in 2014-2015.
