According to Pat Robertson, God was so angry He decided to be petty and put a crack in the Washington Monument. Because that’s what the creator of the Universe does when he’s upset with his ant-farm.

Honestly this is kind of beyond the pale, not for Pat Robertson, but for any sort of rational thinking. Do these idiots even consider what they are saying when they claim that God, in his FURY, decided to crack the Washington Monument during the recent DC Earth-shake? This is the same God who did the flood, Sodom and Gomorrah, who will host the Apocalypse, and, above all else, created everything we see around us? Yet, he was frustrated, so he decided to use physics coupled with aging construction to place a few cracks in the national phallus. His description of the Washington Monument being symbolic of ‘One nation, under God’ is beyond preposterous. Does he have any sort of real education? For some reason, I think God keeps him around as a joke, because he definitely doesn’t help the cause at all. No one looks at the Washington Monument and thinks ‘One nation, Under God’ nor do most people see it as a ‘symbol of America.’ He goes on to compare the Washington Monument to the Temple in Jerusalem, which if you’re as hardcore as Pat Robertson is that’s damn near blasphemy. Wouldn’t the National Cathedral, which also suffered damage, be a more apt symbol? Probably not since it is the den of liars and heathens but this Washington Monument, lo, God has spoken and he has said: Build tall structures in an area that could possibly have an earthquake and watch the fun begin, because I have spoken! What is God upset with the US about now? Gay marriage, abortions, religious freedom, didn’t kill enough people in extraneous wars…which is it Pat? I think you should take a hint from fellow prognosticator Harold Camping, who erroneously predicted God’s wrath in May of this year. Where is Mr. Camping now? Why, he’s enjoying what Pat Robertson would call the joys of a biblical smiting for his hogwash. Not only was Harold Camping incorrect in predicting this end of the world scenario, but he also falls under nearly every biblical qualification for a false prophet. Shortly after his error, he suffered a stroke and is now unable to speak, unable to convey his falsehoods I would assume. See the danger in calling every occurrence an act of God? Or a sign of God’s wrath? Indeed, isn’t it a wicked generation that looks for signs (Matthew 12:49)? By his own logic, Pat Robertson seeks after a sign and is mired in a wicked and adulterous generation except, Pat Robertson is the wicked and the adulterous, misleading people with his senility and lack of true faith. Indeed, I have never thought of Pat Robertson as anything other than someone who worships at the altar of greed and vanity, proclaiming his righteousness on tv for all to see, and we know how Jesus felt about that (Matthew 6:5). Oh Pat, you’re such a joke even by your own standards, thinking you convert people through your television multi-level marketing scheme. I only hope that he realizes his errors and silences himself because if he is silenced by any other means, by his very logic, God has spoken regarding this false-prophet and he and his works will be nothing but dust and ash. His wealth will be the kindling for his damnation and his hypocrisy will bear witness to the many souls he has led away from faith due to arrogance, greed, misinterpretation and vanity. How dangerous it is to assert knowledge of the perfect God, when your same assertions can haunt you. I leave you with this: Ezekiel 25:17. “The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of the darkness. For he is truly his brother’s keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know I am the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee.” In conclusion, Pat Robertson’s a demagogue drama queen who needs to be ignored by anybody who professes faith or seriously inquires into it.
